Yamaha Heritage
Yamaha was founded in 1887 in Hamamatsu Japan, by Torakusu Yamaha. Yamaha initially found employment repairing medical equipment, which led to a request to repair a reed organ installed in a local school. Yamaha became fascinated with the instrument, and this resulted in the establishment of the Yamaha Organ Works.
From these humble beginnings Yamaha has now grown to become the largest musical instrument company in the world. Yamah produce just about every type of musical instrument and a vast range of supporting pro audio products, such as mixing desks and speaker systems. Over the years the company has become involved in many areas that 'enrich people's lives' including AV and Hi-Fi, electronic equipment, motorcycles and resort facilities.
Music remains at the heart of the company, and the unique combination of cutting edge technology, traditional craftsmanship and expertise in sound reproduction make Yamaha the world's favorite musical instruments. The key to this popularity is simple - they meet the needs of the most demanding professional musicians, yet are offered at prices to satisfy home players across the world. The range of home instruments is a shining example of this philosophy, bringing high quality sounds and a vast selection of performance features at outstanding value for money prices.
