Every year as part of the Ware Festival, Rock In The Priory is a 1 day event of Live Music from local musicians. A diverse selection of music from original contemporary songs to Rock Covers, there is something for everyone.
Rock In The Priory started in 2007 and has grown in popularity each year with attendance figures rising to over 6,000 throughout the day. Playsomething plays a main role in the sponsoring and organisation of the day, with Dominic De Rosa (our Academy Headteacher) arranging auditions leading up to the events and including setting up performances for the Academy students to perform on the day (for some ... their first time playing in front of an audience).
We have had crowds of up to 6,000 people before and the line up this year is as strong as ever. Rock in the Priory is a great day out, so keep Sunday 25th July 2010 free in your diary and let's hope the sun shines!

are a five piece band from the Herts/Essex Borders. Although they are new to the current scene, the band was originally formed 22 years ago as 'Before the Storm' and achieved some success in London and the home counties, playing 200 odd gigs between 1987 and 1991, attracting attention from record companies, producing a couple of albums and appearing on Radio sessions. Tragedy struck when songwriter and lead guitarist Keith Winter contracted a serious illness which prevented him from playing and the band folded. 18 years on, Keith has now made a great recovery and his unique guitar style and playing ability have returned. Keith contacted his fellow songwriter and lead singer, Steve Scales, and 'Another Storm' was formed, teaming up with Alex Tsentides on Bass, Dave Kendall on keyboards and Garry Bowler on Drums.

We're a six piece metal band consisting of two vocalists (high and low) two guitarists, a bassist and a drummer. We play intense, brutal yet melodic metal with lyrical themes and content including murder, kidnapping, necromancy, masochism, sex, love and the living dead. As well as this we deliver a high octane and lively performance as we all feel that if you pay to get into one of our gigs you deserve to see a show and not just an exact replication of what you've heard in your bedroom. We all love doing this and live for it, and we hope we can find a few people who dig what we're doing along the way.

let the good times roll
Six piece band Bad Harry are a good time rock, blues and soul covers band. The playlist spans a wide range from Chicago blues through to Indie, with a bit of jazz thrown in to give things a twist. Bad Harry features twin guitars, blues harp, soulful vocals and sax, underpinned by a driving rhythm section.
Growing via fortunate coincidences over four years, Bad Harry has become a six piece band featuring duelling guitars from Mike and Ian (who also handles blues harp), dynamic and emotive vocals from Trevor and fluid sax from Dave. A rock solid rhythm section comes from Richard on bass and Tony on drums. The band plays anything from a fifteen minute showcase to full-on three hour mammoth set. Audiences range from intimate venues to open air festivals. If you'd like to see more about them, visit www.badharry.com or email bookings@badharry.com to check their availability for your event.

are a female fronted 4-piece.Taking their name from The Jam's ‘That's Entertainment', singer and co-writer Ellie Mules was simultaneously hit by the name and the pavement after being knocked off her bike one day. Ellie met songwriting partner Darren Michael (bass) at a random party in London and they were joined shortly after by school chums Noël Martin (guitar) and Rob Meehan (drums).
Slashed Seat Affair is emerging as one of the UK's promising new bands. Their style of energetic pan Atlantic pop/rock with its heartfelt and meaningfully lics has already attracted attention with a notable following through out the UK. Their debut single ‘Forget You' saw the band build on their grass roots support as radio stations up and down the country started to pay attention and give Slashed Seat Affair air time.
At the 2009 Exposure Music Awards Slashed Seat Affair received a ‘Best Alt Song' nomination for ‘Connected' and won the ‘Best Music Video' award for ‘Forget You'.
Entirely self-funded and released on the bands' own record label their debut single, ‘Forget You', was described by one music critic as the sort of "...quality usually reserved for bands that have unlimited funding through a major ..."It is a testament to the bands' quality ,talent, ingenuity, single mindedness and mostly bare faced cheek!
‘Forget You' and Slashed Seat Affair's second single ‘No More Lies' were taken from their debut album ‘Noises,' recorded at London's Strong room Studios.

Leon is a singer songwriter from Hertford, North London. Leon started performing live gigs at the age of 14 in several local rock groups then proceeded to sign a small record deal in 2004 with the band "The Gaff" as the bassist. After the band split in 2005 he then focused on his song writing and producing. Having gathered an albums worth of material he then set out with an acoustic guitar to perform his songs. Upon acquiring his first guitar at the early age of 11, he immersed himself in the music of iconic figures, such as, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and more recent acts such as Blur... Leon's colourful musical past inspired him to experiment with funk, indie rock and pop, before he finally decided to embark on going solo. It was these musical experiences that laid the foundations for his own unique fusion of indie rock and pop which he named ‘GRIT-POP' Leon has been fortunate to play at several well known venues such as Glasgow's Hampden Park to 35,000 and Southampton's Rosebowl playing alongside many of today's big artists.
